Fourth Annual Douglas J. Fletcher Memorial Golf Tournament
The 4th Annual Douglas J. Fletcher Memorial Golf Tournament took place on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at The Brookside Club in Bourne, MA. This year’s tournament exceeded last year’s donation amount, raising $22,000 to benefit the National Marine Life Center, an organization strongly supported by Mr. Fletcher. Sponsor Nielsen Business Media provided the raffle Grand Prize—a 4-night stay at any Hilton Worldwide Hotel while CDS donated the airfare for the trip.

Going Mobile

CDS is Going Mobile! New for 2011 we are rolling out our complete suite of mobile solutions for exhibitors, attendees and show managers.

X•Press LeadApp
The LeadApp is a complete lead retrieval solution for Droids and iPhones. The app has a real-time connection to the database, an onboard leads list and the ability to add notes and answers to qualifying questions. Badges can be entered by typing or scanning a QR barcode on the badge. A full-featured offline mode is available for venues without connectivity or for exhibitors who may incur roaming charges in certain areas.

X•Press eReports
CDS has taken the most requested onsite summary reports and created a mobile reporting system that works on any web-enabled phone. The summary reports are drawn real-time from the database so you can keep track of metrics as they happen. The mobile system piggy-backs onto our full-blown X•Press Reports system and uses your same login, preferences and other settings. Whether you are on the show floor, in a meeting or riding in a taxi—you now have instant access to your most important event information.

Attendee Mobile Partners
CDS is partnering with the industry’s best mobile attendee app vendors through advanced data integrations. We’ll help you choose the vendor that has the best features for your event audience and then deliver a personalized mobile experience for every attendee. Attendee mobile apps feature interactive expo hall maps, session and speaker listings with details, itinerary builders, social media access and much more.

Stop by booth 429 at Expo! Expo! for a demonstration, or contact your Account Executive.
QR Codes

The new X•Press LeadApp scans QR (Quick Response) barcodes which are different from our traditional 2D barcodes called PDF 417s. We are adding the QR code next to the existing 2D barcode on badges for events that offer the LeadApp.

QR codes are beginning to appear everywhere, from magazine advertisements, to posters, to email signature lines. Adding the QR code to our badges opens up many possibilities for using this flexible and powerful technology in the future.

Thermal Printers and Badges

CDS’ latest green initiative is the introduction of thermal badge printers. The printers use heat to affix the ink from a ribbon to the badge stock. The small, easily-portable thermal printers are perfect for events with a simple badge setup. Preprinted, continuous feed badge stock can be used with or without a badge holder. The polymer material is durable and will not tear—attach a lanyard and the badge is ready to go.

Contact your Account Executive for more information.
