Summer Hours and Holidays
Convention Data Services will be observing our summer schedule starting the week of May 24th and ending September 3rd, the Friday preceding Labor Day. Summer hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays, EST. Departments have a reduced staff on Fridays after 1:00 p.m.

CDS will be closed on Monday, May 31st for Memorial Day, Monday, July 5th for Independence Day and Monday, September 6th for Labor Day.


Fourth Annual Douglas J. Fletcher Memorial Golf Tournament
This year’s tournament will be held on Thursday, September 23rd, 2010. Proceeds from the event will benefit the National Marine Life Center. An email announcement will be sent out in June when registration opens. Get more details about this year’s event at https://www.xpressreg.net/golf.

Welcome New Clients    

Convention Data Services is pleased to welcome its newest client CASSS.

CASSS (formerly the California Separation Science Society) is a non-profit professional membership society made up of over 4,000 industry, academic and public sector professionals in the field of separation science. CDS will be providing lead retrieval for their 2010 event.

New Partnership: CDS Partners with ASP    

CDS is partnering with ASP Inc.—providers of content management driven web sites—in order to offer a more comprehensive suite of tools for events. CDS registration pages and ASP promotional sites can be linked together. Clients will also have access to website best practices and marketing strategies derived from ASP’s 13 years experience across the globe.

Product Showcase I: X•Press Exhibitor Emails    

CDS and GoExpo have rolled out their newest exhibitor ROI tool—X•Press Exhibitor Emails. The online application allows exhibitors to send free emails to their prospects and clients effectively building your event’s attendance and increasing traffic to the exhibitor’s booth.

The process is simple. Exhibitors choose a professionally designed template, enter their content into form fields, upload graphics, and schedule their emails—the system takes care of the rest. An easy three-step process, plus a spellchecker and automatic graphic resizing make for a quick and error-free experience. Exhibitors and show management can track the success of the program with the built-in reporting feature.

Product Showcase II: X•Press Leads RealTimer    

CDS is proud to announce the latest addition to our lead retrieval family, the X•Press Leads RealTimer. For exhibitors, the RealTimer is an easy-to-use, handheld unit that delivers more than just contact and demographic lead collection. The RealTimer is a complete prospecting tool that allows for customized surveys and qualifiers to best identify your contacts for follow-up.

In addition to being a comprehensive lead retrieval solution, the RealTimer provides real-time access control and entrance verification for show management. All lead retrieval and tracking data is sent wirelessly via the cell phone network to a password-protected website.

Best Practices: Mobile Phone Task Force Plans for the Future    

CDS has put together a Mobile Phone Task Force in order to develop and deliver an integrated mobile solution for attendees and exhibitors. In addition to a potential partnership with one of the industry’s top mobile developers, CDS is investigating offering its own mobile lead retrieval solution that adds to its powerful suite of lead equipment and ROI tools.

The lead retrieval app will be beta-tested at an event in June before being offered to all events. The initial solution is easy-to-use yet powerful and paves the way for future versions that incorporate the ever changing—and ever improving—capabilities of smart phones and web-enabled mobile phones.
