FAQs: What is the Visa Process? |
|
|
|
|
Obtaining the proper paperwork for international registrants to attend your event is a multi-step process. International attendees need to start the process early in order to have everything ready for your event. The presumption of the law is that every visitor visa applicant intends to immigrate. Applicants for visitor visas must overcome this presumption by clearly demonstrating that:
- The purpose of their trip is to enter the U.S. for business, pleasure, or medical treatment
- They plan to remain for a specific, limited period
- They have available funds to cover expenses in the United States
- They have compelling social and economic ties abroad
- They have a residence outside the U.S. as well as other binding ties which will insure their return abroad at the end of the visit

International attendees are a growing sector of the event industry. During this time of heightened international travel restrictions, it is important to help foreign attendees and exhibitors with the required visa letter process.
Convention Data Service’s X•Press Visa Letter functionality is an online, real-time process for generating and managing Visa letters for international attendees.
During registration, a special welcome message is presented to international visitors. Personalized invitations appear throughout the registration process allowing registrants to conveniently request their Visa letter. The letter can be printed, mailed or saved. It can also be emailed to a 3rd party.
