Looking Forward
		The past several years have seen major changes in technology, social interaction and the economy. Whether you consider each change good or bad, they all present challenges to us individually and to our industry. As the new President of CDS, my message with my staff and our clients is a consistent one, avoid complacency! What this means is we must embrace change. We must leverage our long term relationships with our clients, industry colleagues and our most valued resource–our employees and work together to continue to offer new and creative solutions that ensure we remain in the forefront of our industry. In 2012, we have several mobile, social and data-driven technologies slated for release that will help drive client marketing efforts and enhance the attendee experience. These tools, literally, put qualified event data in the palm of our clients’ hands so that they are able to make better, more informed decisions faster. Even while we forge ahead with our research and development, we are careful to reaffirm and build on the qualities that have contributed to our success. We will focus on building long term value by listening to our clients and offering distinctive products and services that will compliment a well-established foundation of strong customer service and innovative technology. ACTFL The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is the only national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction. CDS will be providing services for the Annual Convention and World Language Expo.	ASCD Founded in 1943, ASCD (formerly the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) is an educational leadership organization dedicated to advancing best practices and policies for the success of each learner. CDS will be providing services to the Annual Conference and two seasonal conferences.	ASPS The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. Founded in 1931, the society is composed of board-certified plastic surgeons who perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. CDS will be providing services to Plastic Surgery 2012 THE Meeting.
Boston Society of Architects The Boston Society of Architects (BSA) is committed to professional development for our members, advocacy on behalf of great design, and sharing an appreciation for the built environment with the public at large. CDS will be providing services for the Architecutre Boston Expo.	Reed Exhibitions Reed Exhibitions Global Gaming Expo. G2E is the world’s largest and premier gaming event where gaming executives, buyers, and industry professionals meet each October in Las Vegas to conduct serious business. CDS will be providing services for the G2E event.

The Real-Time Advantages of Mobile Lead Retrieval
		Mobile devices are quickly becoming a powerful option in an exhibitor’s arsenal. A huge differentiator between mobile and traditional devices is the advantage of online, real-time performance. This instant access to leads by all stakeholders allows for fast, effective and creative follow-up. Taking advantage of real-time leads: Immediate, remote follow-up during the show. Allows the right people to act quickly while the exhibit and event are at the forefront of the prospect’s mind. Follow-up during meeting days from hotel or restaurants onsite. Allows for quick fulfillment of important and urgent requests for materials and information. Give the entire team the information they need. Multi-user access to leads facilitates effective literature fulfillment, follow-up contact and appointment setting by the right team members. Sends a positive message to prospects. Pro-active, immediate follow-up sends a clear message to prospects that as an exhibitor, you care about their business. Profile building and qualification. Real-time integration with sources like registration can alert exhibit personnel when an important prospect or client is in the booth. Profile and interest information about prospects allows the follow-up message to be tailored for maximum closing success. Mobile lead retrieval and its real-time capabilities allows exhibitors to act quickly and deliver a personalized level of service to each booth visitor.

Best Practices
Protecting CVV Codes
In this age of identity theft, it is important for everyone to take steps to protect their identity and finances. One of the important criteria for protecting information is not storing credit card information including the CVV codes—the 3 or 4 digit code on the back of physical credit cards. When designing your hardcopy registration forms, it is important to NOT request the CVV code. CDS securely stores these forms for a period of time and to comply with our security certification, cannot have this code appear on the forms. Requesting CVV codes on online forms is a good practice—we have mechanisms in place to either verify and discard or encrypt sensitive information through our browswer-based forms. Convention Data Services has a number of programs and certifications in place to protect the information that we process on behalf of our event clients. We comply with the credit card industry’s PCI (Payment Card Industry) security standards and are also SSAE 16 certified annually. SSAE 16 replaces SAS 70 and encompasses the accounting rules for the service industry.

New Product Hightlights
Mobile eReports Gets More Reports
In the Summer of 2011, CDS rolled out its mobile reporting site that works on any web-enabled phone and tablet. The product was very well received, so much so in fact that we have already expanded the list of reports available in the system. We have added several onsite reports including Badge Printing by Day and Location, and multiple reports for tracking Verification of Onsite Attendees. eReports is a free service for all of our clients.
