At the most basic level, the events industry is about connecting people. Our tagline is connecting people, driving events—and we strive to do this every day. For the past decade, CDS has experienced strong yet sustainable growth. As we head into 2019 and beyond, our challenge is to manage the unpredictability of the economy and be prepared for the unexpected.
Driving Connections in 2018
CDS is happy to share that 2018 was another strong year for our company, as we delivered on our commitments to our clients. We are especially proud of the new partnerships we established and thrilled to continue working closely with existing clients. Driving connections is the core of what we do—we are grateful for the talented CDS employees who are passionate about this mission and demonstrate it daily. During 2018, CDS established more than 5.5 million connections on your behalf—an increase of 34% over 2017 results!
Several new products have been released within the last year. Launched in September, Reg Stands—custom-engineered onsite registration units—provide show organizers with a highly efficient and modern self-check-in solution. Enhancements to Data Sense® were made, including a Contact Center dashboard. We closed out 2018 with the launch of our Exhibitor Portal, which is a centralized resource for exhibitors to manage event leads and contains product information, analytics, and educational resources.
We are now comfortably settled into our new corporate home. The move was successful in spite of the inevitable yet unpredictable New England storms that we experienced during our move in March. Employees are well-equipped to collaborate on events, with each other and all of you.
Keeping Connections Strong in 2019
In 2019, we will continue to train, and most importantly, empower CDS staff to meet our company’s and our clients’ objectives. We are excited to partner with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to invest up to $500,000 in professional training and development for CDS employees during the next two years!
Developing market leading products and enhancing our existing platforms continue to be critical components of our strategic plan. Facial recognition is an exciting new product being launched in the spring—evolving our Reg Stands to the next level by adding a seamless level of security and speeding up the onsite check-in process. Data Sense will continue to evolve with the addition of new dashboards that allow you to quickly make more informed decisions.
Our any event, any size strategy remains in place. Launching soon is showPRO, the next generation of our self-service registration product allowing you to easily and quickly create and maintain versatile registration pages for smaller and specialty events.
