Convention Data Services (CDS) hosted their second Big Brothers Big Sisters end-of-school year celebration at their headquarters in Bourne.
The local company is in their second year of taking part in the school based-mentoring program. As a way to add some fun and to celebrate the children’s accomplishments over the past year, CDS hosted a pizza party on-site where the children got to enjoy lunch and a giant birthday cake to celebrate everyone’s birthday. After lunch, the children received a tour of the building, where they were able to spend some time exploring their Bigs’ workspaces. They then played giant Jenga, giant Connect 4, basketball and shuffleboard on CDS’ beautiful sports court.
“We are excited to have been part of this amazing program and are looking forward to continuing,” said Sue Partridge, Director of Human Resources at CDS. “Each week, CDS employees visit their Little’s at the Peebles Elementary School for activities and games. We started last year with six Bigs that participated and this year we nearly doubled to 11 Bigs. That really shows the level of commitment to giving back to the community that the employees here exemplify. The kids always love to come on-site and see where their Bigs work and a fun time was had by all at our celebration.”
