We asked Susan to share a bit more about herself and her journey in the events industry.
Q: Tell us about yourself, Susan. Where are you from, and where do you currently live?
Susan: Where I’m from is always a bit of a puzzle for me, given my family’s frequent moves due to my father’s job with IBM. However, I primarily grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, so I consider myself a happy Southerner who now resides in the Northeast, specifically in Mashpee, MA.
Q: What are some of your interests outside of work? Please share a few fun facts about yourself.
Susan: Absolutely! Here are a few tidbits about me:
Hidden talent: I’m a published author, which is a creative outlet I truly enjoy. [What books, you may ask? Susan publishes as S. Clare Casey, and you can check out her titles Exacting Honor and Degree of Chance.]
Favorite movie: Labyrinth holds a special place in my heart.
First concert: Feeling a tad old here, but my first concert featured Bon Jovi and Skid Row.
Volunteer work: I’m involved with a local organization that hosts an alternative gift market benefiting local, national, and international charities.
Hobbies: I’m passionate about writing my books, reading, and attending Comic Cons.
Favorite vacation spot: England; my parents lived there for a few years, and I fell in love with the country.
Favorite food: Without a doubt, my mother’s mashed potatoes, although I have a soft spot for all types of potatoes.
Q: What motivated you to join CDS?
Susan: Relocating from Florida to Massachusetts, I was determined to remain in the events industry, which I love. I was fortunate to find CDS and the opportunity to join this company. It’s a decision I’ve never regretted.
Q: What drives your passion in your role and career? What does success look like to you?
Susan: I love finding solutions to issues and developing new ideas. It’s silly, but I’m passionate about data and helping people, too. My role allows me to do all of that. Success to me is getting the right solution for my client, precise data, and a successful event throughout the life of the event.
With Susan Casey’s wealth of experience and her unwavering dedication to excellence, she is an invaluable asset not only to CDS and our clients, but also to the entire events industry.
