Darren Phalen

As President of Convention Data Services (CDS), Darren Phalen is focused on innovation and how the attendee experience can shape the future of live engagements. Using data analytics and customer feedback, Darren plans to grow CDS’ already stellar reputation in the industry into the world’s leading provider of event registration, lead retrieval and data solutions.

Darren has worked at Freeman for over a decade in several roles, including VP of Innovation & Customer Experience. In his 20+ year career, Darren has always been recognized for his devotion to the customer experience and his forward-thinking approach to live events. In the past 14 years as a member of the Freeman team, Darren helped build Encore Event Technologies into the leading provider of hospitality technology by conceiving and launching their Innovation Group. Most recently, Darren has been a part of Freeman’s Digital Team, overseeing multiple software offerings, including Freeman’s eCommerce platform

The way my son experiences the world through the eyes of a child.

What are your hobbies?

Exercising and golf. I’m an Orangetheory fanatic, and a pretty terrible golfer.
